The BSM football program works to promote pride, respect, honor, integrity, and sportsmanship through interscholastic athletics. The members of the Benton-Scales Mound Zephyr football team will exhibit pride in their play, respect the game of football and all associated with the game, honor those who've played before them, show integrity toward a tradition of excellence, and exhibit sportsmanship towards all. It's a great day to be a Zephyr!
The History of BSM Football
The year was the fall of 1984 and the place was Benton, Wisconsin. A truly unique co-op between schools from separate states was born. The Benton-Scales Mound football co-op began under the direction of Head Coach Bob Knight. It was the first and only time that schools from separate states were brought together in a co-op. The rest they say, “Is history”. The Benton-Scales Mound Zephyrs will be entering their 32nd season as a co-op football program during the fall of 2016. The program has had many positive impacts on the youth of these two great communities over the years. The co-op has been a great source of entertainment and friendship for the two schools and communities. The 2015 Zephyrs had been working hard in the weight room to become bigger, faster, and stronger. The result of this work was a 4-5 season. The loss in the last game of the season kept the Zephyrs from a playoff berth. Since the season ended, the student athletes have been working on the athletic fields in order to improve upon the 2015 campaign. We can’t wait to see you come out and support the Zephyrs during the 33rd season of BSM Football. Go Zephyrs!!
